Ibar highway (M-22) passes through the municipality and provides a connection with Belgarde (87 km), Gornji Milanovac (40 km), Kraljevo and even more with Montenegro.

Regional road (R-202) links Ljig with Valjevo (35 km), and Loznica. There is also connection with Sumadia (Arandjelovac) and Velika Morava river valley.

Rajac Mountain is 8 km away from Ljig, and Rudnik is 27 km.

High-road Belgrade – South Jadran is under construction at the moment and it will pass through the municipality in the length of 18,4 km.

Railway station on the line Belgrade –  Bar is located in Lajkovac (20 km) and Lazarevac (30 km).

There is a bus station, which has very frequent departures to Belgrade, Novi Sad, Zlatibor etc.
